Applications for water, sewer, and garbage service can be found here (click to download application) or at the City Hall. The utility deposit is $160.00. The deposit will be applied to the final bill when your services are turned off. Any remaining amount after paying the final bill will be refunded.

The Water, Sewer, and Garbage bill goes out on the 15th of the month for the previous 30 days of usage. It is due by the 5th of the following month. 10% penalties are applied on the 6th of the month unless the 5th falls on the weekend or a federal holiday.

Water/Sewer Rates

Water Rates:

First 1,500 gallons used per month @ $33.25 (minimum bill);

Next 8,500 gallons used per month @ $13.56 per 1,000 gallons;

All over 10,000 gallons used per month @ $16.22 per 1,000 gallons

Sewer Rates:

  • First 1,500 gallons per month @ $22.79 (minimum bill)
  • All over 1,500 gallons per month @ $9.30

Garbage

Residential

Garbage pickup is every Friday. We provide each residence with a toter. It needs to be placed in the alley before 7 AM Friday morning. If you do not have an alley then it needs to go out on the curb.

Garbage pickup will be on Saturday the week of the following holidays: Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day and Thanksgiving, and Christmas.

3-Yard, 6-Yard, and 20-Yard dumpsters are available for residential use on a temporary basis. Call City Hall to order and for rates.

Commercial

Once a week commercial pickup is on Tuesdays.
Twice a week pickup will be Tuesdays and Fridays.

Recycling

The City provides each residence with a recycling container. The recycling needs to be put out in the alley (or curb side if you don’t have an alley) by 7 AM Friday morning.

Items that are acceptable:

Cardboard (needs to be broken down flat)
Glass (clear glass only)
Plastic rated #1 through #5
Newspaper, office papers and junk mail
Tin and aluminum cans (pop and beer cans, soup cans, vegetable cans, etc.)

Pizza boxes are not acceptable.

Yard Waste

Yard Waste needs to be put on the curb by 7:00 AM on Tuesdays mornings.  Yard Waste items include: grass clippings, leaves and other natural yard debris which need to be in brown paper yard waste bags or trash can clearly marked “yard waste”; sticks/limbs bundled with twine in 4-5 foot lengths.

Appliances

Appliances will not be picked up with your regular garbage. Call City Hall, 758-2281, for information on pick up date and rates.
